MP3. How audio would evolve so quickly. Working with industrial designer Ryan Bruce we were privileged to craft a media player design that would later be seen as preempting the ipod craze of the early 2000’s. First we CNC machined 6061 aluminum housings, finishing the parts with a linear grain. Next the lens area was machined from solid clear Acrylic. We then polished, masked and back painted the lens to allow for artwork to be placed behind. A keypad and docking chassis followed on. The lower portion of the player was fitted with a leather inset and finally we added custom icon transfers.
