MRI housing
Using an existing urethane part, RTV silicone tooling was produced to facilitate a 25 unit production run on a part that has changed companies with no electronic data files or drawings from when it was first manufactured. We helped the client extend the part replacement on existing MRI machines without having to reverse engineer the part. This process has issues with compounded shrinkage as a casting of a casting will have a magnified shrink factor. The client was notified and final dimensions were verified before tooling and the process was approved.
