Nautical flatscreen

During the evolution of this product we teamed with the development group to produce a functional prototype all the way through manufacturing. Initially we machined a solid appearance model finishing the unit with both color, texture and graphic spec.

Our next challenge was to create a functional housing to be fully assembled with production electronics. We CNC machined the housings in ABS plastic, finished the housings and then painted the unit with color matched Polane paint for incredible durability. The unit incorporated a t-slot mounting system that we machined in aluminum and powder coated to match the housing color. The prototype traveled to a trade show where it resided underwater and functional, displaying maps and other information.

We then developed the assembly program for water proofing, and assembled the initial 500 production housings.
